Fish Oil Fights Aging

Daily habits to help fight aging before you are old!

Fish oil supplement for anti aging

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all we had to do was drink a magical potion made by Tibetan Monks to regain our youthful-self? Sadly, no such potion exists but there are a few daily habits you can put in place to help fight aging.

Let’s start with our diet. Studies have shown people who regularly eat a rainbow of fruits and vegetables have the lowest percentage of chronic disease. The fruits and vegetables give our bodies a multitude of different antioxidants and nutrients. These antioxidants and nutrients help us fight aging, weight gain and disease, letting us live longer.

Chronic disease accelerates the aging process and is the main reason for premature death. So, next time you are reaching for a cookie or chips, grab an apple instead.

Along with fresh fruits and vegetables we should be eating plenty of fish! Especially mackerel, tuna, sardines and salmon. These types of fish contain EPA and DHA or omega-3 fatty acids. According to a recent study, people with the lowest rate of aging and heart disease had the highest levels of fatty acids in their systems.

If you are not a seafood lover or have trouble finding wild caught fish try a fish oil supplement. You can get the recommended daily allowance from a capsule just as easily as from eating fish.

Now that we have added more fresh greens, yellows, oranges and purples to our diet, let’s talk teeth and gums. Flossing isn't just good for maintaining healthy gums. It's good for longevity, too.

Flossing stops the bacteria that causes gum disease along with more severe issues. If the bacteria continues to build up and goes unchecked, it can enter your blood stream, causing inflammation and increasing the risk of heart disease. Heart disease is the number one killer! So, floss every day.

Another beneficial habit is to do some sort of daily exercise. We live in a sedentary world, behind a desk or steering wheel most of the day, causing us to be overweight and our muscles to go to pot – accelerating our aging process.

Taking a brisk walk before you start your busy day can help increase circulation and body movement. Simple chores like yard work, gardening and vacuuming making you squat, twist and lift will aid in muscle tone and joint function.

Don’t forget your water. Hydrating is one of the most important things you can do to keep your skin glowing bright and young as well as keeping every system functioning properly. When skin is dehydrated it looks old. The more you drink the better your skin will look. A good rule of thumb is to drink of ¼ of your body weight in water every day. Go light on the alcohol and sugary sodas.
